(OSHKOSH, Wis.) – Oshkosh, Wis.-based R.J. Albright Construction, Inc., has begun work on a new Ledgeview, Wis. office building that will house a Wisconsin Dept. of Corrections regional office, using energy-efficient structural insulated panels (SIPs) as a primary building material.
It is R.J. Albright Construction’s first time working with SIPs panels, and owner Bob Albright, Jr. feels this is just the beginning of their work using the energy-efficient panels.
“It’s the wave of the future, with the way energy and fuel costs are rising,” he said. “SIPs panels are expected to reap high building resale benefits as well.”
R.J. Albright, working in conjunction with Oshkosh, Wis.-based Bros, LLC, is progressing quickly on the new Broadway St. offices, having already laid the foundation and installed flooring elements.
Completion of the 7,000-sqare-foot office building is projected for August 2008.
About SIPs SIPs, used primarily in building floors, walls and roofing, encase foam plastic insulation between two structural skins of oriented strand board (OSB) to yield strong, energy-efficient infrastructure.
They can be customized to fit individual project needs and guarantee less time, money, labor and job-site waste while cutting heating and cooling costs by 50 percent or more. For more information, visit www.sips.org.
